Hey there! My name is Ivan Lopes.

I'm a electrical engineer from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ),
Brazil. I do Competitive Swimming and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu ( massbjj.com or

I’ll tell you a little bit more about the free software and some cool things
we have coming up this year in a little bit.

This is my first Orkut account and Blog, other than stupid stuff on Myspace.
So when Marcos and Joshua asked me to start a Blog here on the google Web
site, I thought, “Geez! I know how to talk to people on the University and at
work, but I’m not sure if I’m the writing kind!” So I guess we’ll find out together
how well this works out!

Basically what I’ll be blogging about are things happening in the technology,
both around the world and stories about the big acts too! I’ll talk about
things happening in and around Boston, NY and Portland including what’s going
on with our University, UFRJ. Plus, I’ll share some thoughts from a “twenty
something’s” perspective about life here in Rio de Janeiro. The good and the
bad! I’m really looking forward to interacting with you and getting your
response to the blog and answering any questions that you may have.
